This condominium complex, which has a total of 60 units developed in 1997‒1980, gets much market attention as its Midnight Pass Road location backs up directly to Crescent Beach. The fine white sands of this coastline stretch northward to the famed Siesta Public Beach. Southward of the condo’s gulfside stretch, the Siesta Key attractions shift to Point of Rocks and Turtle Beach, both quieter and less-frequented by visitors but nonetheless also providing quaint points of interest.

And there’s more to the Midnight Cove location which is only a few hundred meters from the Midnight Pass/Stickney Point Road intersection. Commercial and business activity has recently picked up at Crescent Plaza just south of this junction. Adding to the customer traffic here are a new restaurant and a bakery/café which moved from the Siesta Village commercial hub in the northern side of Siesta Key.

The closure of the village’s Siesta Market in May 2015 with the retirement of its owners should stimulate retail businesses at Crescent Plaza. Siesta Village, nonetheless, should remain as the island’s prime commercial hub, as it remains home to many trendy shops, upscale boutiques, and classy restaurants offering live music by local artists.

A short distance off Siesta Key, other big commercial initiatives are in the pipeline or have already taken place along U.S. 41 (Tamiami Trail) just across Stickney Point Bridge just south of Midnight Cove. At the Tamiami’s junction with Stickney Point, the co-developer of the Mall at University Town Center, Benderson Development, has plans for a 250,000-square-foot retail center to be known as Siesta Promenade. This plan coming through will provide added shopping options in this area, currently dominated by retailers at the South Bridge Plaza complex.

Meanwhile, a bit farther south along the Tamiami, the 2014 renovation of the Westfield Sarasota Square has already brought in new retail outlets. Across this mall, more businesses too have set up shop at the Pelican Plaza, and another mixed-use commercial establishment, Cassia Cay, is planned near this area along South Tamiami Trail.

Options to choose from

Coupled with Midnight Cove’s superb gulfside location, these recent commercial development initiatives may have helped much in the quick turnover of available units in this property. Earlier in 2015, two deals were sealed in this condominium within three weeks of the units’ listing in the MLS of Siesta Key condos for sale. One of these is a two-bedroom unit with a floor area of 1,533 square feet and sales-listed with an asking price approaching $1.5 million. The other is a smaller two-bedroom unit having a floor plan of 1,214 square feet and listed in the high $700s.

Options for prospective buyers of Midnight Cove condos for sale can be twofold. The choices that may become available are units housed in the property’s seven-story building and/or three-story beachfront townhouses. Another alternative is exploring buying opportunities at Midnight Cove’s sister bayside development just across Midnight Pass Road where listed units are often more plentiful.

Gulfside Midnight Cove residents share the clubhouse facilities at this bayside property and can rent boat docks there as well. Amenities at the gulfside of the complex include tennis courts, two heated swimming pools, and picnic areas with barbecue grills, complete facilities which help further whet buying interest on the units here coming onto the market.
